I generally work in series, which allows me the flexibility to begin with a central theme and then follow where it leads. From that main idea, a cluster of related works can emerge, each connected through what feels to me like a network of visual and emotional associations. In this way, one piece often opens the door to another. The series becomes a living structure through which I can deepen, extend, and refine an idea over time.

This approach differs from that of many artists who create singular, self-contained works. For me, it is important to have a theme, a story, or a larger inquiry guiding the process—what I think of as my statement. That statement gives coherence to the work and allows each piece to function as part of a broader conversation.

I am most often drawn to spirituality as a subject, and my work tends to approach it with fewer political underpinnings. I am interested in inner life, reflection, mystery, and the unseen forces that shape human experience. At the same time, I have made exceptions when conditions in the world have strongly moved me. In such moments, my emotional response to social and political realities has found its way into the work, expanding the statement the series is meant to carry.
